My Experience Calling China

Greetings, fellow practitioners!

I wanted to write you to tell you how easy it is now for me to make calls to China!

The information I got from www.clarifythetruthinchina.org was all I needed to blast through my fear of making these calls.

Among other things, I was able to download voice recordings in Chinese explaining the truth about the persecution and the vicious lies Jiang Zemin spread about Falun Gong.

I also downloaded helpful audio files of basic Chinese expressions such as: "Hello. Do you speak English?'. I found that learning a few basic expressions such as these was helpful in making me feel more connected to the person on the other end of the line.

Also, reading some "Calling China Experiences" from the website was very helpful in putting me in a good state of mind to make these calls. It really helped reinforce the urgency of clarifying the truth in China.

Anyhow... I decided that I wanted to get over this attachment of fear that I have been carrying around with me revolving around: 1) making calls to a total a stranger 2) who lived in a foreign country 3) who spoke Chinese 4) who may have been poisoned by the lies the Chinese media spread about Falun Gong, etc, etc. It seemed like the deck was stacked against me before I even picked up the phone! I was plagued with thoughts like:

Well... I finally had to recognize that these were merely excuses I was giving myself for not making these calls... which I knew I should make. So, I decided to just plow ahead and get over my fears and just "do it!"

Anyway, I organized a group of three practitioners to come over to my house to make phone calls to China. I bought 2 calling cards and we all sent forth righteous thoughts till we felt the interference had been cleaned out, both around us and the around the people we were going to call.

I went to www.clarifythetruthinchina.com and chose one recording in Chinese to play to the Chinese people when they answered our call. I also was able to view, in English, what the person on the other end of the phone was going to hear in Chinese.

Here is what we did: One of us would dial the phone number and one of us would be ready to hit the "PLAY" button to start the recording when someone answered the call. The third person was sending forth righteous thoughts all during this time.

When someone would pick up the phone on the other end, we would ask "Hello. Do you speck English?' If they indicated that they did not speak English, we would simply start the recording and wait till it ended. If they did speak English, we would just read the pre-arranged English script (from the website) and discussed what we read to them right afterwords.

If they gave us any signs that they wanted to learn more about Falun Gong or about the persecution, they usually indicated that by staying on the line after we were finished and we said "Falun Dafa Hou!" to them. If they wanted to know more information, we would simply jot down their phone number and give it to a Chinese practitioner to call at a later date.

We found that when playing the pre-recorded phone speech in Chinese, we would have to listen carefully to see if the person on the other end of the line was still there or simply hung up. Yes... some people did hang up on us. ; - )

We noticed that some people would listen for a couple minutes then hang up and some people would just hang up as soon as we started talking, etc.

We discovered how important it was to have a group because every call was a different experience and we were all able to share our insights into each call. We had quite a few people who listened to the whole recording that we played.

I think the reason it went so well was because we planned ahead of time how we were where going to do things: who was going to do what task and when and how that task was going to be done. For example, we had the phone numbers of who we wanted to call, calling cards, the time we planned on starting, and the time we were going to stop making calls.

I think at first we all had "butterflies in our stomachs" but as a group we overcame them quickly and found people really wanted to know the truth... they were genuinely interested in hearing from us. That both surprised us and delighted us. We are all now looking forward to our weekly "calling sessions" with joyful anticipation.

The thought of enjoying myself and making calls to strangers in China didn't seem to go together in my own mind-- no matter how I looked at it before. However, I now discovered that they do go together and they will for you too! Once you break the barrier of fear, it's a piece of cake.

Think about it, that's all we did was go to www.clarifythetruthinchina.com and:

  1. got the phone numbers that were listed there
  2. got the phone cards they recommended
  3. downloaded the Chinese voice recordings and a few common Chinese expressions
  4. we sent forth righteous thoughts (even these SFRT audio files were available there!)
  5. we dialed the phone numbers directly from the website
  6. we greeted the person on the other end of the line in our "best-as-we-could-do" Chinese
  7. we hit a button to start the pre-recorded speech
  8. we said goodbye or if they were interested, we took their phone number
That's it... it was that simple!

You know, I heard it said that even fierce and brave warriors of the past still had some sense of fear when they were going into battle. However, they did what they had to do in spite of their fear -- and that is how they got *over* their fear.

For a practitioner, fear is not a reason to NOT take righteous action... it is actually one of the very reason we should!

If you would like me to help you organize a "calling group" in your area, please let me know. I would be glad to share my experiences with you. My email address is: clarify@HotPOP.com
